Hiring a Private Chef in Berkshire vs DaChi’s Restaurant to You

Customer Service Journey- Booking process

There is often a misconception associated with dine-at-home catering services, particularly when comparing services like hiring a private chef in Berkshire to what is described as a “restaurant to you” experience. Many advertisements tempting you with headlines like “Hire a private chef in your home from just £24.99 a head—Bringing the restaurant to you!” Such promises can be appealing at first glance, but they don’t capture the full story.

Seeing this, we decided to launch a comprehensive three-part blog series aimed at clarifying the distinctions between these services. While both options might seem similar at a superficial level—both promising restaurant-quality meals in the comfort of your own home—the reality is more nuanced. Our series will delve into the unique attributes and benefits of each service, ensuring that our readers can make informed decisions about what best suits their needs. By providing this deeper insight, we aim to debunk myths and shed light on the true essence of home dining services.

Your journey with us begins when you are looking at hiring a Private Chef in Berkshire. During a phone call, you’ll tell us exactly what you need. You’ll quickly notice that our service is tailored and luxurious. We’ll talk about what’s important to you, the type of event you’re planning, your food likes, favourite colours, and wine preferences. This conversation helps us create a custom proposal specifically for your event. It’s also important for us to get to know each other, as working together is a shared effort.

After your call, your events manager Chido, or your ‘wing woman’ as we like to say, will pass on your preferences to your personal chef, David. He will create a few menu options tailored to your dietary needs and tastes. Then, you’ll get a custom proposal in your personal portal. It includes our services, your event details, what your package covers, the menus, and our booking terms. This portal is also the place where you can find all our messages and important documents related to your event.

If you like your proposal and want to proceed, just click a button to accept it. This will create your catering contract. You need to pay a non-refundable deposit of £50 to reserve the date. Half of the total cost must be paid 4 weeks before the event, and the full amount is due 2 weeks before the event. From when you book until the day of your event, Chido will be your main contact.

We schedule a site visit at a convenient time for you, which only takes about 20 minutes. During this visit, you’ll meet David, your chef, and Chido, your event manager and hostess, before your event. We’ll walk through the kitchen and dining room, discuss how to serve the food, parking, changing area, waste disposal and see what equipment and space are available to avoid any surprises on the event day. Our aim is to operate independently on the day of the event, so we won’t need to bother you. This visit is also a chance for you to make any special requests.
